Frequently Asked Questions

How do we book Naomi?
First, you need to check if I am available on your wedding date. You can do this by email or by phoning. If you like I can arrange a meeting to discuss your wedding requirements. There is no charge for this consultation. A deposit of £300 secures your wedding date in my diary.
Are there travel costs?
Travel is included where the wedding is held within Carlisle, south west Scotland and North Cumbria. I am also available to travel worldwide and can make a tailored package to suit your needs.
Can friends and family view and buy images?
All images are placed onto my password-protected site. If you give friends and family the password they can also view your images and buy any images that they would like. The photographs are then sent to their address.
How long will Naomi stay at the wedding?
That’s up to you. Generally from early preparations to after the speeches or dancing.
How long before we see our photos after the wedding?
During the busy summer months it can take up to 6 – 8 weeks until you get to see your wedding photographs due to the sheer volume of weddings that I shoot during that time. You will receive a link and a personal password to your online wedding gallery. This will allow you to view your photos and if you have chosen an album collection you can choose your wedding photos too.
Do you take pictures right throughout the day or do you have a break?
I will always have my camera with me. Generally, when the wedding party sit down to eat is the time to have a quick break and back up the photos taken so far.
Do we need to meet before we book?
I always like to meet before taking a booking but it is not essential. If you are happy to exchange information and contracts via email/telephone then thats absolutely fine.
Do you include an engagement shoot in your packages?
The packages don’t include pre wedding shoots but they can always be incorporated.
Is it okay if other people take photos when you are taking yours?
The only time that I request that guests don’t take photos is when we are taking any pre-planned shots. What tends to happen is that if more than one camera is being pointed at a group of people, you have different people looking at different cameras.
How does the album design process work?
After you have viewed and selected your images, I along with my graphic designer personally design the album layout , to ensure that it accurately reflects the events of your special day. This is then emailed to be proofed by you. Once you’re happy with the design the album then goes to print. This process takes about four to five weeks.
Can I customise the package further?
Additional hours, photographers, hand finished prints, can all be added on an “a la carte” basis as desired.
I hate posing for pictures, do I have to pose?
Yes, I know what you mean. I hate posing for pictures too! Posing isn’t natural and we don’t think it looks natural either. My style is all about capturing the REAL you and the JOY of your wedding day.
Do you take traditional wedding photographs?
I do take traditional family pictures in addition to a more lifestyle documentary style. While they may not be as exciting as some of my informal images, I do appreciate the value and the history behind the traditional family portrait. Since each wedding is unique, we decide, in discussion with you, how much time is spent on traditional groups.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am fully insured. I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
